Animal I Spy is a fun way for young children to learn characteristics of their favourite animals. An illustrated magnifying glass reveals a clue to help the reader search for a specific animal (a giraffe with a long neck for example), but there are penty of other animals to discover before the correct one is spotted.
Kate Sheppard went to the same art college as David Hockney. She has illustrated well over 100 volumes. The quirkier the book, the more fun Kate has with the drawings.
School Library JournalTh[is] sturdy book [is] a great selection for little hands BooklistThis attractive and diverting board book features six spying games, most of which are surprisingly
challenging. “I spy an animal that lives in a shell,” begins one, and the reader is met with a two-page
collage. Photo elements make up the backdrop, and drawings depict the animals, jolly little cartoons
showing everything from snails to dinosaurs.
