Beating the Odds by Ira Childress

Beating the Odds is a collection of stories from my childhood and adulthood that chronicles my inspirational journey through life and sport. This memoir consists of small glimpses into my lived experiences, lessons learned, and obstacles overcome. These stories range from my experiences growing up in poverty, navigating adolescence as a student-athlete, and pursuing various careers in sport. This book is meant to inspire people, including young people coming from underprivileged backgrounds, to dream beyond their surroundings and commit to reaching those dreams.
