Box Elder Trees and Elderberry Bushes
Here are poems by members of the Reflections of the Muse Poetry Society written for National Poetry Month and read on April 14, 2012 at Baker Allegan Studio, in our hometown of Allegan, Michigan. Our small group meets from time to time to raise morale and to keep our confidence up. We plan to give a reading of our work each year in April.
Our poetry reflects our Michigan environment. Here in Allegan County on the shore of Lake Michigan, near the State Game Area (We still have the habit of calling it the State Forest) in the heart of the fruit belt we write with the Michigan Water Wonderland lurking in our psychological makeup. We write about people and their lost opportunities and their victories within wonderful surroundings.
