Have you ever wondered what makes a book banned or why books are challenged? Who creates that list or why we even talk about banned books? This panel discussion might be for you. Banned Books Week was launched in the 1980s, a time of increased challenges, organized protests, and the Island Trees School District v. Pico (1982) Supreme Court case, which ruled that school officials can't ban books in libraries simply because of their content. We’ve brought together librarians and booksellers to discuss banned books and their importance. This event is virtual and FREE. RSVP on Facebook and join us LIVE.
