Life never quite seems to go according to plan. Shannon Bream never could have guessed where her journey would take her. In Finding the Bright Side: The Art of Chasing What Matters, Bream invites readers backstage for a conversation about authenticity, humility, and trusting in God.
Bream brings readers along as she navigates the curveballs life throws, including her fiancé’s battle with a brain tumor, trying to make ends meet while earning her law degree with honors, and the challenges of switching careers from law to the cutthroat competitiveness of broadcast journalism. Bream also had to cope with her own diagnosis of an incurable genetic condition that led her to questioning everything, including if she should take her own life. However, in those darkest moments and regardless of the challenges, Bream knew that every step of the way she could rely on her family, friends, and faith to make it through. Finding purpose in the pain, Bream chose to see the bright side in every circumstance she faced and trusted that God would help. Bream invites readers to find their purpose, trust their faith, and make the most of every opportunity.
Shannon Bream is best known today as the host of Fox News @ Night, but her path to the news desk was anything but typical. While studying at Liberty University, she decided to compete in the Miss Virginia Pageant, winning and eventually leading her to a Top 10 finish in the Miss America Pageant. She utilized the scholarship money she won to help fund her undergraduate education, graduating from Liberty University magna cum laude. During her three years of law school at Florida State University, Bream landed a job working in the Speaker’s Office of the Florida House of Representatives, got engaged to her college sweetheart, ran a marathon, and became Miss Florida USA, earning a Top 10 finish in the Miss USA Pageant.
