Local poet, Joyce Benvenuto joins us to release her newest title Road to Duncan.
About the Author
Benvenuto has wintered in the Southwest for the past 20 years. Road to Duncan takes the reader along the route of the former Southern Pacific Railroad—visiting Apache lands, the Border, and the route of her father, a hobo, who traveled from Texas to the Pacific in the 1920s.
Benvenuto previously taught English and creative writing for Haslett Public Schools.
Now retired, she still spends five months of the year in her beloved Michigan.
Her former two books celebrate Grand River both literally and figuratively. The literal is the road and river of Michigan. But the metaphorical river embraces the history of the five generations of her family.
